The case was dismissed on Tuesday, Feb. 4, by Superior Court Judge Donna Heller, who has presided over the case since it began more than two-and-half years ago.
Heller said in dismissal order that a marriage is dissolved by the death of one of the parties.
Fotis Dulos was pronounced dead on Thursday, Jan. 30, two days after he was rushed to the hospital after attempting suicide at his Farmington home.
The divorce case was considered one of the most litigious cases in the state with more than 500 pleadings presented to the court.
The couple had been married for 13 years.
Jennifer Dulos has been missing since Friday, May 24, 2019, after dropping off her five children at school in New Canaan.
In court documents, police said they believe Dulos was “lying in wait” for Jennifer Dulos when she returned home and that he attacked and killed her in the garage of her New Canaan home.
The documents also say Dulos later cleaned up the crime scene and disposed of her body along with numerous garbage bags filled with bloody clothes and other items.
